This Cookie Policy explains how Airbytes Communications Limited (“Airbytes”, “we”, “us” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our website, and how you can manage them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains more generally how we handle personal data. This Policy reflects the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, in force since 5 February 2026, and the ICO’s guidance on cookies and similar technologies.

1. What are cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, work more efficiently, and to provide reporting information. Similar technologies (such as local storage, tags, pixels or fingerprinting) may be used for the same purposes and are covered by this Policy.

2. Categories of cookies we use

Strictly necessary: required to provide a service you have specifically requested (for example, keeping you logged in to My Airbytes, remembering items in a basket, security cookies, or the cookie that records your cookie preferences). These do not require consent and cannot be switched off, as the site would not work properly without them.

Statistical (analytics): used solely to understand how visitors use our website so we can improve it. Where these cookies are used only for this purpose, are not shared with any third party for that third party’s own purposes, and you are given clear information and a simple, free way to object, they may be used without your prior consent under the statistical purposes exception introduced by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025. Where our analytics tooling does not meet these conditions (for example, because data is shared with a third-party provider for its own purposes), we will instead ask for your consent.

Website appearance/preference: used solely to remember how our website should look or behave for you (for example, layout or display preferences). Where used solely for this purpose, these may be used without prior consent, provided you are given a simple, free way to object.

Marketing/advertising: used to measure the effectiveness of advertising or to show you more relevant content, including any cross-site or cross-device tracking. These always require your prior, opt-in consent – there is no exemption for advertising cookies.

Emergency assistance: used solely to establish a user’s location to provide emergency assistance. We do not currently use cookies for this purpose.

3. Cookies used on our website

A full, itemised list of the specific cookies used on our website (name, provider, purpose and duration) will be added to this Policy following a technical audit of the live site.

4. Managing your cookie preferences

4.1 Where cookies require your consent (see section 2), you will be shown a cookie banner giving you the choice to accept or reject them before they are set. The banner gives “Accept all” and “Reject all” equal prominence, does not use pre-ticked boxes, and does not treat continued browsing as consent. You can change your choice at any time via the cookie settings link in the website footer.

4.2 Where cookies rely on the statistical or website appearance exemptions rather than consent (see section 2), we will provide a simple, free way for you to object to them via the cookie settings link in the website footer, and we will stop using them for you if you object.

4.3 You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to see what cookies you have and delete them individually, block third-party cookies, block cookies from particular sites, block all cookies, or delete all cookies when you close your browser. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect the functionality of our website and customer portal.

5. Consent and objections

5.1 Where PECR requires consent (strictly for marketing/advertising cookies, and for any analytics or other cookies that do not meet the conditions of an exemption), we only set those cookies with your prior, freely given, specific and informed consent, obtained through our cookie banner.

5.2 Where PECR allows us to rely on the statistical or website appearance exemptions instead of consent, we will still tell you clearly what those cookies do and give you a simple, free way to object, as described in section 4.2.

5.3 You can withdraw consent, or exercise your right to object, at any time using the cookie settings link in the website footer.

6. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or in the law. The current version is always available on our website.
